Efforts for clean-energy vehicles
Nissan has been undertaking R & D activities focusing on clean-energy vehicles - hybrid, electric, natural gas and fuel cells.
Launching the cleanest gasoline-engine vehicle, "Sentra CA".
Sentra CA (Clean Air) is designated SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle), the cleanest gasoline-engine vehicle. It has also been certified by California Air Resource Board to be Partial ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) credit.

Hybrid Vehicle (HEV) Nissan's hybrid system "NISSAN HYBRID" combines advantages of an electric motor and a gasoline engine with CVT, resulting in great fuel saving.	Electric Vehicle (EV) Nissan launched Hypermini, the ultra-small electric car based on high-performance lithium-ion battery and a high-efficiency neodymium magnet synchronous motor. It is certain to be a great hit as the optimum car for urban life.	Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) Nissan's fuel cell vehicle is powered by electrical energy directly obtained through chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen, and its exhaust is just pure water, an ultimate clean vehicle. Nissan will start verification tests participating in the California Fuel Cell Partnership (CaFCP) in 2000.
